he Master Djwal Kool gave Alice Bailey and those who follow
these Teachings an Invocation called The Great Invocation.
It is intended to be prayed, recited with one's
mind conscious of the subtle spheres called upon by the petition
and with one's heart striving for the fulfillment of the ultimate
evolution of Humanity.
With poetic prose it states the Three Great Universal and
Creative Principles to which this Invocation is directed,
highlighting in every stanza, the link between the Principle
invoked and the human center or human principle engendered
by this Divine Principle and thus bound to it. It is said
that God created man to His resemblance. The interpretation
of this affirmation should not evoke the restless wanderings
and the depravities that hinder one's true being which is
the spiritual soul. (Higher Mind-Love-Pure
Spirit or what is called Manas,
Buddhi-Atma in oriental phraseology.)
These Three Universal Principles have been called Holy
Trinity by the Christians, Trimourti
by the Hindus and The Upper
Triad by the Kabbalists. They are creative because
all that which exists in the Universe (therefore Creation)
is proceeded by them.
They are, in the order of the Manifestation
Will (or Power) or
Principle to which all human beings are bound: The

The order that governs this Invocation
has a raison to be. It follows the process of mastery
of the personality of a being.
First, it is by the Light,
in other words, by the Intelligence
aware of the necessity to change and evolve in consciousness
towards Spirit, that the accelerated path of Spiritual evolution
can be initiated. One understands the place of a human being
within the context of entire planetary, if not systemic, evolution
and therefore can take mental action to appease the passions
and subject the psychic body to the demands of Spirit. Therefore
we find the Invocation of the Light (Divine Intelligence)
in the first stanza, so that It acts upon our own Intelligence
and leads us to a more transcendental comprehension
of Life.
Then, or simultaneously, it is by the Love
towards all beings that the transmutation of our human structure
is pursued in a way effective and rapid . Additionally, our
capacity for intuitive Knowledge of the most abstract metaphysical
Truths, as well as the faculty of being more and more conscious
of the Vast Universe, can be developed. Therefore we find
the Invocation of Love in the second stanza, so that It acts
upon our own capacity to love and leads us to a more transcendental
consciousness of Life.
Then, it is by the Divine
Will, which is Might or Power, that the immersion
in the Divine Plan or purpose of the Creation can be achieved.
Therefore we find the Invocation of the Divine Will in the
third stanza, so that It acts upon our own capacity of volition
and leads us to a more genuine
(of spiritual origin) action on Life.
Finally, it is by Creation
Itself, in other words, as far as we are concerned, the sum
total of all the human beings on Earth with their dense personalities
(the physical body, the psyche and the intellect) being unified
and yielded to Superior Principles (Will, Love, and Intelligence
acting on our personality) that evil can
be eradicated on Earth. Therefore, we find the Invocation
of the Force, represented in the fourth stanza by a conscious
and benevolent Humanity, so that powerful and intelligent
human action, impregnated by love, eradicates the planetary
evil and thus saves Life.
We see in the final exhortation of this Invocation that
it is only by the action of these Three Universal Principles
of Will, Love and Intelligence working through Humanity, that
the Divine Plan (the access
to true Life by all and the end of suffering,
regardless of one's race, gender or religious creed) will
be established on Earth.
This Invocation is presented here, on this Site, so that
all men and women who wish to join this intense Prayer can
do so, as often as possible, by reciting it in an effective
manner, with thorough knowledge
and comprehension of what it
entails.
THE GREAT
INVOCATION
From the Point
of Light within the Mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the mind of men
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the Point of Love
within the Heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the heart of men
May Christ return to Earth.
From the Centre where
the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the Centre which
we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light, Love and
Power restore the Plan on Earth.
